Meet 10 Popular Men from ‘Kapoor’ Khandaan and their gorgeous wives!

There’s no family like the Kapoor family. From Prithviraj Kapoor to Ranbir Kapoor, it’s delightful to see how the Kapoor khandaan has been carrying forward its legacy for four generations and continuing to entertain us! By the way, Kapoor family is big enough. While almost everyone in Kapoor Khandaan has remained a rather public figure, there are still some faces who have reamained reclusive than the others. So today, we are going to meet you the popular men from ‘Kapoor’ Khandaan and their gorgeous wives!

1. Prithviraj Kapoor and Rama

Prithviraj Kapoor was the first from the Kapoor family who try his luck in the field of acting. He appeared in films like ‘Do Dhaari Talwar’, ‘Alam Ara’, and Mughal-e-Azam’. Prithviraj Kapoor got married to Ramsarni (Rama) in 1923 and had three sons, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Shashi Kapoor. Both Prithviraj and Ramsarni had cancer and died about a fortnight apart: Prithviraj died on 29 May 1972 and was followed by his wife on 14 June.

2. Raj Kapoor and Krishna Malhotra

Raj Kapooe was also known as “the greatest showman of Hindi cinema”. Kapoor is regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors and filmmakers in the history of Hindi cinema. He got married to married Krishna Malhotra in 1946. Raj and Krishna Kapoor were blessed with five children: three sons, actors Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv, and two daughters, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain.

3. Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali and Neila Devi

Shammi Kapoor was an Indian film actor and director. He was a prominent lead actor in Hindi cinema from the late 1950s until the early 1970s and also made a debut in Tamil cinema with the 1992 blockbuster crime drama Amaran. Shammi first got married to Geeta Bali in 1955, with whom he had two kids- Kanchan and Aditya. Unfortunately, it was just 10 years of their marriage, Geeta Bali succumbed to smallpox in 1965. Than, in 1965 Shammi got married to Neila Devi who often spotted at family events.

4. Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kendal

Actor Shashi Kapoor has ruled Hindi cinema and won hearts of several people, is no longer in this world. In July 1958, he married the English actress Jennifer Kendal and they acted in a number of films together, most notably in the Merchant Ivory productions. He had three children with Kendal; Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor all of whom for a short while became film actors. Kendal died of cancer in 1984.

5. Randhir Kapoor and Babita

Randhir Kapoor is the elder son of actor–filmmaker Raj Kapoor. The actor is married to actress Babita Shivdasani since 1971, with whom he has two daughters, actresses Karisma and Kareena Kapoor. The couple separated in 1988, but reconciled in 2007, after living separately for several years.

6. Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh

Rishi Kapoor is the second son of actor-film director Raj Kapoor and grandson of actor Prithviraj Kapoor. The actor married actress Neetu Singh on 22 January 1980. The couple has two children, actor Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Riddhima.

7. Rajiv Kapoor and Aarti Sabarwal

Rajiv Kapoor is the youngest son of actor/director Raj Kapoor. Rajiv made his acting debut in Ek Jaan Hain Hum in 1983. He played the leading role in his father’s last directorial venture Ram Teri Ganga Maili in 1985. He acted in several other films and made his last film appearance in Zimmedaar in 1990. In 2001, he got married to architect Aarti Sabharwal but got divorced two years later.

8. Aditya Raj Kapoor and Preeti

Aditya Raj Kapoor is the son of late actor Shammi Kapoor and actress Geeta Bali. Kapoor is best known for his work as an assistant director in several Hindi films and his English language directorial films like Shamaal, Don’t Stop Dreaming (2007) and Sambar Salsa (2007). Aditya married to Preeti who stays away from limelight.

9. Kunal Kapoor and Sheena Sippy

Kunal Kapoor is an elder son of Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kendal.  In 1981 he appeared in his first mainstream Bollywood film titled Ahista Ahistaopposite Padmini Kolhapure. In 1982 he appeared in Vijeta. After that he appeared in the art films Utsav (1984) and Trikal (1985). Trikal was his last film appearance. Kunal was married to filmmaker Ramesh Sippy’s daughter Sheena, a well known photographer (the lady on the left). The couple have two children together, Shaira and Zahan. Kunal and Sheena are now divorced.

10. Karan Kapoor and Lorna

Karan Kapoor is a younger son of Shashi Kapoor and Jennifer Kendal. He is a well known model and actor in the early 1980s. He is best remembered for his role in ‘Sultanat’ which featured Juhi Chawla as his female lead. Karan later quit acting and he later moved towards photography and decided to be a part of this profession. He is now an established photographer in London. He is married to Lorna, from who he has a daughter Aliya and son Zach.
