Pratyusha Banerjee to Kamlesh Pandey, celebrities gone too soon in 2016!

It's very unfortunate that, this year, some of our TV actors have died an untimely death. Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide case was all over the news throughout the year. We wanted to see more of her on the small screen. Not just Pratyusha, this year we lost actors like Suresh Chatwal, Sulabha Deshpande, Razak Khan, Rajesh Vivek, Mukesh Rawal and Kamlesh Pandey. By saying gone too soon, we mean that their performances were so powerful and mesmerizing that we wanted them to continue entertaining us with their acts on the small screen.

Pratyusha Banerjee

Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee was found hanging in her apartment on April 1. The death of one of the most popular TV actress left the nation in a shock. Controversies surrounding Pratyusha's suicide case don't seem to end as every now and then it has many twists and turns. This sudden demise was followed by various accusations and revelations. The actress’ boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, is said to be the main reason behind this suicide. The worst part is that the case is still pending.  

Suresh Chatwal

Veteran film and television actor Suresh Chatwal, who was seen on popular show FIR , passed away after prolonged illness on May 28 this year. Chatwal made his acting debut in the year 1969 with Rakhi and was also seen in films like Karan Arjun, Koyla and Munna Bhai MBBS. He was last seen on the big screen in Nakshatra in 2010.

Sulabha Deshpande

Having made her mark in the fields of theatre, television and Bollywood alike, veteran actress Sulabha Deshpande is no longer amidst us. She passed away at the age of 79 at her Mumbai residence on June 4 this year. Apart from acting in the plays written by acclaimed playwrights such as Vijay Tendulkar, Deshpande featured in several Marathi and Hindi films and TV serials. 

Razak Khan

Popular Bollywood comedian and TV actor Razak Khan who was part of showbiz for more than two decades breathed his last on June 1, 2016. Razak Khan played Bua's husband Golden Bhai in Kapil Sharma's show Comedy Nights With Kapil. Apart from playing Makodi Pehlwan in Chamatkar alongside Farooq Shaikh, he was seen in R. K. Laxman Ki Duniya in a cameo role. Khan had also acted in more than 90 films. 

Rajesh Vivek

Television actor Rajesh Vivek Upadhyay, who played the popular character of Guran in Bollywood blockbuster, Lagaan passed away on January 14, 2016 at the age of 66. He suffered a cardiac arrest. He had been a part of some iconic TV shows like Bharat Ki Khoj, Mahabharat and Ighori.

Mukesh Rawal

Mukesh Rawal, who was best known for playing Vibhishan in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, passed away in a train accident on November 15 this year. The accident took place when the 65-year-old actor was travelling for the dubbing of an upcoming Gujarati film. His body was found at Kandivali railway track. It's indeed sad!

Kamlesh Pandey
Kamlesh Pandey, best known for his role as a police officer on the popular show Crime Patrol, committed suicide on December 14, this year. If reports are to be believed, Pandey was upset that his wife's sister had not invited him for her eldest daughter's wedding. He reportedly took out the revolver he was carrying and fired shots in the air before shooting himself in the chest, after a heated argument.
