Gold Awards 2018: Nia Sharma TROLLED for bold avatar

news & gossip,Nia Sharma

Trolling - it’s a menace in current times and no one can escape the harsh comments that come on social media. All the celebs have, something or other, been targeted. The latest victim is Television’s one of the popular actors - Nia Sharma.

She recently grabbed attention when she chose to step out for an event in the city in a bold avatar. She opted to wear a white netted gown with a plunge neck line. There were a few who appreciated her bold look. But then, there were some who trolled her left, right and centre.

Haters went on to criticize her on racist terms. They called her ‘dark’ and ‘ugly’. Nia chose NOT to reply as she doesn't care about the trolls. This  is not the first time netizens are trolling her for her looks.

When Nia was asked about the gown, the actress told Hindustan Times, "There was a lot of theatre and drama to the outfit. Red carpets call for some drama and when you get the chance, seize the day."

"I can’t go for the usual run-of-the-mill outfits. If I wear a regular-looking ensemble and look pretty, I feel it isn’t enough. When you walk the red-carpet, you need to step it up. I believe a girl is never overdressed," Nia added.

Talking further about how many actresses like Deepika Padukone have worn such outfits, Nia concluded, "I loved wearing the outfit. Many actresses have already worn such an outfit in the past in different styles and colours. I work on all my outfits with designer Shahid Amir. It felt great that so many of my contemporaries complimented me on ensemble and said ‘it looked like someone had arrived at the red carpet’."
