Ranbir Kapoor: I am addicted to nicotine now and it’s worse than drugs

News,Ranbir Kapoor,Sanju

Ranbir Kapoor stepped into the shoes of Sanjay Dutt - Bollywood's controversy child. Sanjay Dutt's life was not an ordinary one - it included drugs, alcohol, Arms Act and Terrorism. Ranbir nailed the role and especially the part where he is seen taking drugs.

Just like in the movie, Ranbir, in real life too, has consumed drugs. In a conversation with Deccan Chronicle, he confessed, "I have tried drugs when I was in college and got into bad influence. But I realised that nothing will happen in life if I continue with drugs. When we did that section, I did a lot of research."

"This film is a good learning for children and youth that five-minutes of ecstasy can destroy your entire life. It’s the worst thing possible. Sanjay  was much stronger, a fighter who came out of it and became a star," added the actor.

He hasn't done any hard drugs but is addicted to smoking. "Every man makes mistakes in his life. I am addicted to nicotine now and it’s worse than drugs. And I have addiction for sweets as well," said Ranbir.

Talking of Sanju, the film is inching close to the 150-crore mark and has earned Rs 25.35 crore on Monday. In total, the collections stands at Rs 145.41 crore.

The film boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Manish Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Jim Sarbh and Karishma Tanna.
